spray
valve utility savings
California
food service facilities have found that upgrading their
kitchens with high-efficiency pre-rinse spray valves
provides substantial savings in water, wastewater and
energy utility bills. Traditional water nozzles typically
use three to five gallons of water per minute while the
new models provided through the Rinse & Save Program
use just 1.6 gallons.
The
figures below reflect water and energy savings within
food service operations categorized by the CUWCC as "very
small" and "small," mostly independent establishments.
High-volume food service facilities that serve meals
throughout the day are expected to yield significantly
higher savings.
For
more information on the Rinse & Save program or to
schedule an appointment to install a FREE high-efficiency
pre-rinse spray valve, please contact the Water
Conservation Section at (415)
