residential clothes washer rebates SFPUC residential customers can receive a cash rebate of up to $150 on select High-Efficiency clothes washers.   High-Efficiency labeled clothes washers use less water, energy, and detergent, and clean clothes better than conventional models.  Although some High-Efficiency models cost more than standard models, the savings on utility bills combined with the rebate make them a better buy in the long run.  The combined water, wastewater and energy savings found in today’s clothes washers make the High-Efficiency models nearly 40% more efficient than older machines.

In addition to the SFPUC's water efficiency rebate, you may also qualify for an energy efficiency rebate for high efficiency clothes washers. Two programs are available-- however, you may only apply for one energy rebate from one of the programs listed below. Please contact the programs for more information: Visit the Pacific Gas and Electric Company at www.pge.com LightWash Program (for common area laundry facilities) at (866) 307-9274 or visit www.lightwash.com   to apply Download the SFPUC Water Conservation clothes washer rebate application and return the completed application with original receipts to the mailing address listed on the form. An on-site inspection may be required to receive approval. This program applies to purchases made between June 1, 2005 and May 31, 2006. Funding is limited and rebates are available on a first come, first served basis.  Clothes washers must be installed and rebate applications must be postmarked within 90 days of purchase date. The SFPUC reserves the right to inspect the installations. Only SFPUC Water Conservation Program-approved clothes washers qualify for rebates.  To obtain a current list of qualifying models and their rebate amounts, please review the SFPUC’s program-approved clothes washer list below.
